RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Manpower Minister Yassierli will attend the BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting (LEMM) in India on July 15–16, 2026, to discuss strategic employment issues, including workforce skills development.

Minister Yassierli emphasized that Indonesia’s participation in the forum is part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and expand collaboration in addressing global labor dynamics.

“The BRICS forum is an important momentum for Indonesia to reinforce international cooperation in employment," Minister Yassierli said on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

"Through this platform, Indonesia can exchange experiences, broaden collaboration, and strengthen synergy in formulating policies that adapt to changes in the world of work,” he added.

He explained that the BRICS LEMM serves as a forum for labor ministers of member countries to discuss evolving challenges in the world of work while enhancing cooperation among nations.

The meeting is scheduled to address four key issues: strengthening social protection and formalizing labor markets; increasing women’s participation and inclusion in the workforce; enhancing competitiveness and workforce skills; and leveraging digital technology for all workers, including gig and platform-based workers.

Minister Yassierli noted that labor challenges are becoming increasingly complex amid shifting job markets, evolving skill requirements, and the need to expand worker protection. International cooperation, he said, is essential in formulating joint solutions.

“Indonesia is ready to contribute actively to every discussion and share best practices that support the creation of a more inclusive, productive, resilient, and sustainable world of work,” he added.

He further stated that the BRICS LEMM provides an opportunity for member countries to strengthen common perspectives on global labor developments and exchange experiences on policies implemented in their respective nations. (Diva Rifdah)
