RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian humanitarian organization Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia (AVI) has launched its first Gaza Nutrition Meals program, delivering nutritious food packages to orphaned children in southern Gaza as part of Indonesia's ongoing humanitarian assistance for Palestinians affected by the conflict.
The program was carried out by AVI volunteers in the Al Mawashi area of Khan Younis, where meals were prepared to meet the nutritional needs of the children while using dishes familiar to the local community.
"Nutritious meals not only help meet the children's physical needs but also represent the care and support of the Indonesian people for their brothers and sisters in Gaza," AVI Gaza Volunteer Coordinator Ahmad Ibrahim Asthal said in a statement released in Jakarta on Friday, July 3, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Each food package contained Gaza-style spiced rice, chicken, pickled vegetables, an apple, nuts, and milk. A total of 50 orphaned children in Al Mawashi, Khan Younis, received the meals.
The Gaza Nutrition Meals program was introduced to help address children's nutritional needs at a time when access to food remains severely limited.
Beyond providing daily meals, the initiative aims to support the health and resilience of children living amid prolonged conflict.
AVI also expressed appreciation to Indonesians who contributed to the program. Donations enabled the organization to distribute aid directly to beneficiaries through its volunteer network in Gaza.
"AVI hopes the Gaza Nutrition Meals program can continue on a sustainable basis so that it reaches more children and families in need across Gaza," Ahmad said.
AVI is a humanitarian organization focused on delivering assistance to Palestinians and implementing humanitarian programs across Indonesia. Working with volunteers on the ground, the organization provides food, healthcare, education, and other social assistance to communities affected by the crisis. ***
