RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in Indonesia as part of his Asian tour. He has visited a minister and met Indonesia's president Prabowo Subianto a day after his arrival.

Lukashenko landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He later met Indonesia's Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, on the same day.

Rosan, as also the head of Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia, posted his meeting with Lukashenko on his social media account on Wednesday. He welcomed Lukashenko and his delegates.

"Lukashenko's visit underscores the commitment of the two countries to strengthening their partnership across priority sectors, including food security, energy, and investment," Rosan said.

"Hoped that cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus would continue to deepen and deliver lasting benefits for the people of both nations," he continued.

Lukashenko is scheduled to meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, July 2, 2026. As monitored from the Presidential Secretariat, he was escorted by cavalry rows, a tradition that began under Prabowo.

Being the president since 1994, Lukashenko is the longest-serving president in Europe. He won many elections, including the 2020 elections, resulting in protests over his long tenure.

Indonesia and Belarus established diplomatic relations in 1993. The previous head of state meeting was in the past year, when Prabowo visited Belarus and met Lukashenko in his residence in July 2025.
