Indonesia, Belarus FMs Discuss Lukashenko's State Visit Preparations

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia's Foreign Minister, Sugiono, received Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenko in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, to discuss preparations for the upcoming state visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Indonesia, scheduled for July 2, 2026.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed technical preparations and the substance of the state visit, including several areas of cooperation that are expected to serve as the visit's key deliverables.
Both sides also expressed appreciation for the close coordination between ministries and government agencies of the two countries in preparing for the visit.
In addition to discussing the upcoming visit, Sugiono and Ryzhenko explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties in various sectors, including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, as well as science and technology.
Indonesia also welcomed the planned launch of the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026–2030, which is expected to provide a framework for advancing concrete and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that President Aleksandr Lukashenko's state visit would further strengthen Indonesia–Belarus relations and result in agreements that bring tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
Belarus is one of Indonesia's key partners in the Eurasian region and a leading member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Previously, Indonesia and the EAEU signed the Indonesia–EAEU Free Trade Agreement in December 2025, which is expected to further expand trade and investment cooperation between Indonesia and EAEU member states.
