RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia underscored its leadership in forging practical, results‑driven solutions for forests and climate at the Forest and Climate Leaders’ Partnership (FCLP) Ministerial Event.

Entitled “From Glasgow to Addis Ababa: Building Momentum on Forests from COP30 to COP32”, the forum was held at Kew Gardens, London, the United Kingdom, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Indonesian Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni stressed that the challenge today is no longer about raising ambition, but ensuring commitments are translated into measurable action through strong partnerships, practical cooperation, and sustainable investment.

Quoting the ministry's official website, Indonesia presented three strategic agendas in the forum.

First, high‑integrity carbon markets. Indonesia is advancing conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable forest management, and community empowerment through credible climate financing. The government continues to refine national regulations to ensure legal certainty, transparency, and environmental credibility in carbon trading.

Second, International Tropical Peatland Center (ITPC). Indonesia is strengthening global collaboration, research, and innovation in managing 13 million hectares of tropical peatlands, one of the world’s largest carbon storage ecosystems. Indonesia invited FCLP members to expand cooperation through ITPC to accelerate science‑based solutions.

Third, World Mangrove Center (WMC). Indonesia is promoting international collaboration in mangrove research, policy, and capacity building. With 3.4 million hectares of mangroves--around 23 percent of the global total--Indonesia shared its experience in using mangroves as nature‑based climate solutions and urged wider participation to strengthen WMC.

Indonesia reaffirmed its readiness to deepen engagement within the FCLP and strengthen collaboration with global partners to deliver ambitious, inclusive, and implementable forestry solutions.

As the world’s third‑largest tropical forest nation, Indonesia emphasized that climate change, land degradation, and biodiversity loss can only be addressed through strong global partnerships.

Through these initiatives, Indonesia continues to position itself as a strategic partner in building a sustainable, equitable future for forests--benefiting climate, biodiversity, and communities worldwide. ***
