Unpad Strengthens Global Recognition Through Cybersecurity Partnership

RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Padjadjaran University (Unpad) is stepping up efforts to boost its international recognition by forging partnerships not only with leading universities worldwide but also with prominent global companies.

One of its latest collaborations is with JSC Positive Technologies, a Russian leader in the cybersecurity industry.

The partnership covers a wide range of joint educational initiatives, including training programs for lecturers, the establishment of specialized laboratories for hands-on cybersecurity practice, and the development of courses on defensive security and secure software development.

The cooperation was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Moscow on Wednesday, 14 May 2026, by Unpad Rector Arief S. Kartasasmita and Positive Technologies’ Director of International Channels and Education Programs, Alexander Udalov.

Arief emphasized that cybersecurity has become a strategic priority for nations seeking to build resilient and sustainable digital ecosystems.

“Universities play a vital role in preparing future cybersecurity talent through stronger academic programs, practical training, research collaboration, and industry engagement," he said, as quoted on Unpad's official website on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

"We value the expertise of Positive Technologies, which has partnered with several Indonesian universities to advance cybersecurity education and professional capacity. This collaboration will strengthen practical competencies, drive innovation, and contribute significantly to Indonesia’s national cyber resilience,” he added.

Regional Director for Southeast Asia at Positive Technologies, Elena Grishaeva, highlighted the company’s mission to support global cybersecurity professionals in advancing their careers.

“A skilled workforce is essential to achieving strong cyber resilience. Partnering with universities in Indonesia helps us build a community of experts who can collaboratively counter cyber threats in Southeast Asia and globally,” she explained. ***
