President Prabowo Receives Credentials from Nine Ambassadors at Merdeka Palace

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto once again welcomed the presentation of credentials from ambassadors of friendly nations.

This time, nine Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) formally presented their letters of credence at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

“Yes, there are nine ambassadors. You’ll see the list later,” Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta told reporters at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Anis did not elaborate on the President’s agenda with the ambassadors.

Previously, President Prabowo had received eight ambassadors in a similar ceremony. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that after the credential presentation, the program continued with a courtesy meeting with the President.

“Following the submission of credentials, there was a cordial exchange. The ambassadors conveyed greetings and respect from their respective heads of state to President Prabowo,” Prasetyo said in a press briefing on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Prasetyo added that the ambassadors also expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s diplomatic efforts, particularly his emphasis on peace amid global uncertainty and ongoing conflicts.

During the meeting, President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s long-standing foreign policy of bebas aktif (independent and active), stressing that Indonesia does not align itself with any single country or bloc.

“The President reiterated Indonesia’s commitment, as determined by our founding fathers, that our foreign policy is independent and active, and that we remain non-aligned,” Prasetyo noted. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
