RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is reinforcing the country’s role in global industrial cooperation through its participation in the BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution 2026 (BRICS PartNIR Forum 2026), held in Xiamen, China. Carrying the theme “Fostering an Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem to Accelerate the New Industrial Revolution,” the forum focuses on building intelligent manufacturing ecosystems to accelerate industrial transformation.

Indonesia’s involvement in the BRICS forum as a developing-country partner represents a strategic step to reaffirm its commitment to expanding cooperation in industry, technology, and investment, while strengthening international partnerships.

“Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation in addressing global industrial transformation through the development of intelligent technologies, future industrial standards, and industrial human resource development,” Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

The theme of BRICS PartNIR Forum 2026 is considered highly relevant to ongoing global industrial transformation. Advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, the industrial internet, and big data-based digital systems have significantly reshaped manufacturing worldwide. These changes have affected not only production processes, but also supply chains and industrial competitiveness on a global scale.

For Indonesia, strengthening an intelligent manufacturing ecosystem is an essential part of maintaining industrial resilience while increasing economic value-added. This effort aligns with the implementation of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, which accelerates industrial transformation through digitalization, green industry development, downstream processing, and the adoption of modern technologies in manufacturing.

“Indonesia views BRICS PartNIR as an important platform for strengthening policy dialogue, technological cooperation, industrial partnerships, and capacity-building among developing countries,” Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access, Tri Supondy, said on behalf of the Minister of Industry during the forum’s opening ceremony in Xiamen.

According to him, the forum provides a platform for strengthening industrial partnerships, expanding technological collaboration, and building national industrial capacity amid the acceleration of a new industrial revolution. Indonesia’s participation is also part of broader efforts to expand industrial cooperation networks, promote technology exchange, and create partnerships that support national industrial transformation.

He added that collaboration among developing countries plays a crucial role in creating more inclusive and sustainable industrial growth. Through BRICS PartNIR, member and partner countries can strengthen synergies in technology development, industrial innovation, and human resource enhancement.

During the forum, Indonesia highlighted three key priorities for future industrial development: digitalization and smart factory development, green industrial transformation based on clean energy, and strengthening innovation and industrial workforce competencies. These three areas are viewed as essential foundations for building an adaptive and highly competitive manufacturing sector.

Through the forum, the Ministry of Industry continues to promote stronger global collaboration to create a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable industrial transformation. The government believes that international synergy in industrial technology development will open new opportunities for national industrial growth while enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness in global markets.
