RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Indonesia has begun the repatriation phase of Hajj 2026 while urging pilgrims to prioritize their health. The phase started as 5,499 second-wave Indonesian pilgrims were scheduled to arrive in Madinah on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
The arrivals mark the beginning of the repatriation phase for Indonesian pilgrims. They have completed the peak Hajj rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina, known as Armuzna.
Vice Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, called on pilgrims to spend their time in Madinah more calmly. He said pilgrims should avoid exhausting themselves after completing demanding rituals in Makkah and Armuzna.
According to him, the second-wave phase requires greater attention to pilgrims' health conditions. Based on previous Hajj experiences, physical stamina often declines as pilgrims approach their return journey.
He affirmed that health and safety should remain the main priorities during the final stage of pilgrimage. Pilgrims, he said, should perform worship according to their abilities and avoid overexertion.
In addition, Dahnil said Madinah offers a more relaxed atmosphere after the physically demanding Hajj period. He encouraged pilgrims to enjoy the city while conserving their energy.
“In Madinah, this is a place to be joyful, calmer, and more relaxed. We hope pilgrims will not exhaust themselves again because much of their energy has already been used during the Hajj rituals in Makkah and Armuzna,” he said.
The Vice Minister also assured pilgrims that accommodations in Madinah are located near the Prophet’s Mosque. Some hotels are about 50 meters away, while others are situated within the nearby Markaziyah area.
“We hope pilgrims can enjoy the atmosphere of Madinah, increase their worship calmly, and make good use of the opportunity to visit Rawdah. Most importantly, their health should remain well maintained until they return to Indonesia,” he said.
