Iran Claims Strike on Military Targets in Northern Palestine as Self-Defense

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia stated that Iran’s Armed Forces struck several military targets in northern occupied Palestine on Sunday night, June 7, 2026, as an act of self-defense.

In a press statement received in Jakarta on Monday, the Iranian Embassy said the action was taken following what it described as repeated violations of the April 8, 2026 ceasefire agreement, as well as continued Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Iran.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia announces that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the evening of June 7, 2026, in the exercise of the inherent right of self-defense as stipulated in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, struck several military targets in northern occupied Palestine,” the embassy said in its statement.

The Iranian Embassy also accused the United States military of involvement in attacks on Iranian vessels and various targets in the southern part of the country over the past two weeks.

According to the embassy, the ceasefire in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the ceasefire agreement reached on April 8, 2026.

In its statement, the embassy argued that the United States government bears responsibility for the alleged ceasefire violations attributed to Israel, including the consequences arising from escalating tensions in the region.

“We remind that the ceasefire in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the April 8, 2026 ceasefire agreement. Therefore, the United States government bears direct responsibility for the ceasefire violations committed by the Zionist regime and for all resulting consequences, including any escalation of tensions in the region,” the Iranian Embassy said.

The embassy further stressed that any actions it considers provocative or aggressive toward Lebanon or Iran would be met with a response from Iran’s Armed Forces.

“Any provocative actions and aggressive adventurism directed against Lebanon or the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a firm, comprehensive, and devastating response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the embassy said.
