RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta - As the 2026 Hajj season comes to an end, the Hajj Task Force continues to strengthen protection for Indonesian pilgrims. This is done by improving cooperation with the Saudi Arabian government.

The goal is to ensure Indonesian pilgrims can worship safely and in an orderly way. On June 1, 2026, Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Dedi Prasetyo met with a representative from Saudi Arabia’s Presidency of State Security.

The meeting was held at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. Officials from the Indonesian Police and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh also attended. They discussed Hajj management and security cooperation.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chief of Police thanked Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government has helped with services and security for Indonesian pilgrims.

Thanks to that help, pilgrims could worship peacefully. The Police also promised to keep working with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and other agencies.

Indonesia and Saudi Arabia agreed to strengthen communication. The cooperation focuses on pilgrim security, information sharing, and using technology. All of this is to keep pilgrims safe from departure, during worship, until they return to Indonesia. Saudi Arabia also shared its experience managing millions of pilgrims.

The Hajj Task Force also evaluated this year’s Hajj season. The results will be used to improve services next year.

Strong coordination and modern technology are very important. Up to May 29, 2026, the Task Force handled many cases of unofficial Hajj. There were 29 police reports and 30 information reports.

A total of 26 suspects and 550 victims were recorded. Losses reached Rp21.7 billion. The Hajj Task Force also worked on prevention through public education and monitoring pilgrim departures.

Head of Police Public Relations Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir said this evaluation is very important. Indonesia has the largest number of Hajj pilgrims in the world. So, protection must be strong and integrated. The Police will continue to support the government to improve Hajj services. Cooperation with Saudi Arabia will also be strengthened for pilgrim safety.
