House of Representatives Partners with China to Upgrade Regional Governments

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Chairperson of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), M. Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, became the special advisor of the China-Indonesia Vocational Education Development Research Center. He received the honor during his visit to China some time ago.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation to support regional development. He also stressed the importance of increasing the capacity of regional government employees.

"This trust stems from our collective commitment in Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives to promote fiscal independence in the regions," Rifqinizamy said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

"One of which is by providing various alternative financing options and building competitive regionally-owned enterprises," he continued.

Therefore, he is committed to making this position a bridge to bring together regional needs in Indonesia and the potential for cooperation that China has. He also said international cooperation is a necessity for regional development in Indonesia today.

"However, there's one important caveat: national sovereignty and independence are non-negotiable for us," Rifqinizamy, of the center-left NasDem Party, emphasized.

China-Indonesia Vocational Education Development Research Center is a strategic partnership between educational institutions and the governments of Indonesia and China. This collaborative center focuses on modernizing vocational standards, improving human quality, aligning curriculum with industry, and integrating technology.
