Indonesia-Russia Strengthen Cooperation on International Information Security

RRI.CO.ID, Moscow – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Alimov met with Mohammad Koba, Deputy for Foreign Political Coordination at Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs, in Moscow on Friday, 29 May 29 2026. The meeting underscored efforts by Indonesia and Russia to strengthen cooperation on international information security.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the outcomes of bilateral consultations held earlier on the same day.
“In that meeting, both parties exchanged views on the results of the bilateral consultations in the field of international information security that had taken place on the same day,” the Russian Embassy in Indonesia said in a statement posted on its official X account on Saturday, 30 May 2026.
The Russian Embassy emphasized the importance of deepening substantive cooperation within United Nations (UN) global mechanisms related to international information security.
In addition, Indonesia and Russia underscored the importance of cooperation within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and called for the prompt entry into force of the UN Convention against Cybercrime.
“The International Telecommunication Union, as well as in promoting the prompt entry into force of the UN Convention against Cybercrime,” the statement said.
The meeting was part of both countries’ efforts to strengthen coordination and collaboration in addressing increasingly complex cyber and information security challenges at the global level.
