RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to France on Thursday, May 28, 2026, produced four new commercial agreements focused on energy security, trade, and defense cooperation.

The outcomes highlight the strengthening of bilateral ties between Jakarta and Paris amid global uncertainty.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the agreements in Jakarta on Friday, May 29, 2026, describing them as concrete results of President Prabowo’s meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

The two leaders also attended the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council, initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and MEDEF International.

The forum brought together 30 business leaders from both countries, representing a combined market capitalization of USD 1.3 trillion. Teddy noted the council is expected to strengthen investment relations and ensure the implementation of earlier memoranda of understanding.

During Macron’s visit to Indonesia in May 2025, 27 MoUs worth more than USD 11 billion were signed, underscoring the depth of economic cooperation between the two nations.

President Prabowo’s visit was marked by full ceremonial honors, including a welcome at Les Invalides and an escort of 146 cavalry and 27 motorized guards en route to the Élysée Palace, where he was received by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.

According to Teddy, the elaborate state ceremonies reflect the closeness of Indonesia-France relations. “The honor given to the President is an honor for the nation and the people of Indonesia,” he said, as quoted by Antara. ***
