RRI.CO.ID, Makkah - Indonesian Hajj officers are earning praise for their service, but officials caution that the most demanding phase of the pilgrimage still lies ahead, as the peak rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) are approaching.

Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has urged teams to remain vigilant and responsive. Inspector General of the Ministry, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Dendi Suryadi, reminded officers not to be complacent despite positive feedback. “Do not be lulled by praise; the next task awaits in Armuzna,” he said on Friday, May 22, 2026.

He noted that Indonesian officers’ performance through day 29 of operations had been commended by pilgrims, supervisory teams, fellow officers from other countries, and even Saudi authorities.

To strengthen readiness, the government has formed a Special Mina Team and an Armuzna Operational Unit, divided into three task forces: Arafah under the Airport Working Area (Daker Bandara), Muzdalifah under Daker Makkah, and Mina under Daker Madinah.

“This division is meant to accelerate response on the ground,” Dendi explained.

Deputy Mina Task Force head Zaenal Muttaqin added that officers must continue educating pilgrims to limit unnecessary activities and remain with their groups to avoid separation.

The recognition of Indonesian officers has also been highlighted by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. He confirmed that appreciation came from multiple parties, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself.

“You have received admiration from many sides, especially the Saudi government,” Dahnil said in a written statement. He praised the officers’ responsiveness in handling complaints and assisting pilgrims, noting that their performance has become a positive benchmark in Indonesia’s Hajj management.

Dahnil further revealed that he and Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf had been invited by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior for a special audience, underscoring the official recognition of Indonesia’s efforts.

“This is a source of pride and a good sign for our Hajj services. The work of Indonesian officers is even seen as a model for other countries,” he remarked. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
