Indonesia Opens Global Market Access Through the 2026 WCCE

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy held a strategic meeting with the Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen institutional collaboration and expand global cooperation networks. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, emphasized the increasingly solid synergy needed to build strong diplomacy while also affirming Indonesia's position as a leader in the Global South and a global economic hub.
"As a key element in Indonesia's Grand Strategy of Soft Power Diplomacy, the creative economy has proven to be an effective diplomatic instrument. A close partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a key foundation for Indonesia to continue strengthening its leadership in the global creative economy arena," Teuku conveyed in Jakarta on May 19, 2026.
This inter-ministerial meeting discussed strengthening international cooperation and finalizing preparations for the 5th World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026. This tactical discussion aimed to formulate the substance and narrative of the creative economy in global forums, while also opening up investment opportunities and broader global market access for national creative economy players.
"This collaboration is crucial. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' strong global network will be a key driver in the success of the creative diplomacy agenda. This will also expand the national economic impact," the Minister of Creative Economy said.
The 2026 WCCE is planned to be amplified and promoted through Indonesian missions abroad to attract participation from more than 80 countries. Carrying the theme "Inclusively Creative Collective Continuity," this multilateral conference focuses on the sustainability of cooperation between nations and will feature seven main event elements: the Friends of Creative Economy (FACE) Meeting, Ministerial Meeting, Plenary Session, Creative Session, Creativillage, Bilateral Meetings (B2B, G2G, G2B), and the Official Dinner.
In addition to the multilateral forum, concrete cooperation is also realized through capacity-building programs for seven member countries of the Organization of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific (OACPS). At the bilateral level, the implementation of this active collaboration has been firmly established with seven strategic partner countries, including Australia, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Philippines, Thailand, France, and the United Kingdom.
