RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia underscored its commitment to sustainable infrastructure diplomacy with Singapore through active participation in the international forum Ecosperity Week 2026, held in Singapore.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) delivered a keynote address on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

In his speech, AHY stressed that Asia’s future development must rest on resilience, sustainability, and strong partnerships. He highlighted energy transition, infrastructure expansion, and regional security as collective priorities to safeguard the well-being of Asian societies.

Indonesia’s national agenda includes advancing connectivity infrastructure, coastal development projects such as the Giant Sea Wall, strengthening downstream industries, and expanding geothermal energy as a clean power source.

“We are ready to work with partners from North America, Europe, Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and the Global South--provided cooperation is fair, benefits are shared, standards are respected, and local communities gain tangible advantages,” AHY said in a written statement from Jakarta.

Sigit Raditya, Special Staff for Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the Coordinating Ministry, noted that Indonesia’s active role in the forum reflects growing global attention to the country’s development trajectory under President Prabowo Subianto.

“The world today is not only looking for nations with abundant resources, but also those with clear policy direction supported by a long-term vision,” he said.

Indonesia and Singapore’s cooperation in green infrastructure, clean energy, and sustainable investment was highlighted as a key effort to enhance ASEAN’s competitiveness amid shifting global economic and geopolitical dynamics.

During the forum, AHY held a courtesy meeting with Temasek Chairman Teo Chee Hean and delivered his keynote titled “From Coastlines to Common Ground: Building a Resilient and Sustainable Asia.”

Ecosperity Week 2026 gathered government leaders, industry players, global investors, and policymakers from across the world. Indonesia’s presence was seen as vital in reinforcing its strategic role in global discussions on sustainable development and green economic transformation.

AHY was accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaraja Pandjaitan, Deputy Chief of Mission Thomas Ardian Siregar, Deputy for Housing and Settlement Infrastructure Development Ronny Hutahayan, and Special Staff members Herzaky Mahendra Putra, Merry Riana, and Ali Affandi.
