RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has shifted its Hajj operations fully to Makkah after completing the transfer of regular pilgrims from Madinah, as officials intensify preparations for the peak pilgrimage rituals known as Armuzna.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said services for Indonesian pilgrims have remained orderly and under control through the 26th day of operations, with efforts now concentrated on ensuring readiness for the Armuzna phase.
“All Indonesian regular Hajj pilgrims are now in Makkah," the Hajj and Umrah Ministry's spokesperson Suci Annisa said in Makkah on Saturday, May 16, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website.
"This is an important phase because all service efforts are now focused on ensuring pilgrims are ready to perform the peak Hajj rituals safely, orderly, and comfortably,” she added
According to operational data, 430 flight groups carrying 166,269 pilgrims and 1,717 officers have departed for Saudi Arabia. Of those, 418 groups consisting of 161,591 pilgrims and 1,672 officers have already arrived in Makkah.
Meanwhile, 11,739 special Hajj pilgrims have also reached Saudi Arabia.
Suci said the completion of pilgrim transfers from Madinah was followed by the redeployment of officers to strengthen services in Makkah and Armuzna, including transportation, accommodation, food distribution, healthcare, pilgrim protection, and religious guidance.
“Officers move according to pilgrims’ needs. When all pilgrims are concentrated in Makkah, service reinforcements are also centered in Makkah and Armuzna,” she said.
The ministry and Indonesian Hajj Organizing Committee continue to finalize preparations for Armuzna, including manifest data, pilgrim movement mapping, bus readiness, tent arrangements, food distribution, healthcare services, and protection measures for elderly, disabled, and high-risk pilgrims.
Authorities also urged pilgrims to conserve energy, maintain their health, get sufficient rest, and reduce unnecessary outdoor activities, especially during daytime hours.
“Maintaining health is part of worship preparation. Armuzna requires strong stamina, so pilgrims need to manage their energy from now on and avoid overexertion,” she added.
The ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to preventing unauthorized Hajj travel.
As of May 15, a special task force had stopped 32 Indonesian citizens at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport who were suspected of attempting to perform Hajj without official procedures or documents.
“We urge the public not to be tempted by non-procedural Hajj offers. Hajj pilgrimage must use an official Hajj visa. Do not risk safety and legal certainty because of promises of quicker departures without waiting lists,” she explained.
She also expressed appreciation to Hajj officers and Indonesian pilgrims for maintaining discipline and following official guidance throughout the pilgrimage process. ***
