RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties by signing Agreed Minutes covering cooperation across multiple strategic sectors. The signing took place during the 14th Joint Commission Session on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation in Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Indonesia was represented by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto while Russia was represented by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov at the event.
The Agreed Minutes serve as a joint document outlining progress in bilateral cooperation, shared understandings reached during the session, and directions for follow-up initiatives.
“This document is an important reference to ensure the continuity of implementing the outcomes of discussions between the two countries in a more structured and concrete way,” Minister Airlangga said in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The agreement covers a wide range of priority areas, including trade and investment, renewable energy, agriculture and fisheries, industry, transportation and construction, higher education and science, healthcare, tourism, culture, digital development and media, sports, geology and mineral resources, and urban solid waste management.
Minister Airlangga emphasized that the signing reflects both nations’ determination to advance cooperation in line with the directives of their leaders. “The signing of the Agreed Minutes of the 14th Joint Commission between Indonesia and Russia demonstrates the commitment of both countries to continue strengthening and following up on bilateral cooperation in various priority fields,” he noted.
He added that the agreement underscores a shared vision for mutually beneficial partnerships. “Through this signing, Indonesia and Russia reaffirm their joint commitment to continuously strengthen bilateral cooperation that benefits both countries and aligns with national development priorities,” Minister Airlangga concluded. ***
