RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has urged all parties in the Middle East conflict to exercise restraint and uphold international law following missile and drone strikes on oil facilities in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement released on social media Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the attacks, warning that they risk escalating tensions, violating ceasefire agreements, and disrupting global energy security.
“Indonesia calls on all sides to respect the full ceasefire and safeguard civilian infrastructure,” the ministry stated, as quoted by Antara.
The Indonesian government cautioned that worsening instability could spread beyond the region, affecting countries worldwide. It reaffirmed the country's readiness to support efforts aimed at de‑escalation and dialogue to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Amid the escalation, Indonesian nationals in the UAE were advised to remain vigilant and follow guidance from local authorities and the Indonesian mission. “All Indonesians are urged to stay calm, increase awareness, and comply with instructions from local officials and the Indonesian representatives in the UAE,” the ministry added.
The Fujairah Media Office reported a major fire at the Oil Industry Zone on Monday, May 4, after the facility was targeted by drones allegedly launched from Iran. Authorities confirmed three Indian nationals were injured and taken to hospital.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), however, denied involvement.
According to state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the IRGC’s Khatam al‑Anbiya headquarters stated that no missile or drone operations had been carried out against the UAE in recent days, dismissing the UAE Defense Ministry’s accusations as “baseless”. ***
