RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia confirmed that there were no fatalities in the accident involving two Indonesian Hajj buses in Saudi Arabia on April 28, 2026. Director for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heni Hamidah, explained that the incident involved buses carrying pilgrims from the Surabaya 2 and Jakarta 1 Hajj groups during a trip to the Jabal Magnet area.

“Based on information from the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, there were no fatalities in this accident,” Heni said during a press briefing in Jakarta on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Heni stated that 10 pilgrims sustained injuries. Of those, seven pilgrims from the Jakarta 1 group had received medical treatment and have returned to the Andalus Garden hotel.

Meanwhile, from the Surabaya 2 group, three pilgrims were treated medically. Two of them have been discharged and allowed to return to their accommodation, while one 60-year-old pilgrim remains under treatment at Al Hayat Kuba Hospital.

In addition, she emphasized that the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah continues to monitor the condition of the affected pilgrims and ensures that medical treatment is properly provided.

“The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah will continue to monitor the handling and medical treatment of the Hajj pilgrims,” Heni said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Indonesia reported that the accident occurred in Medina on April 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. local time (WAS), involving pilgrims from groups SUB-02 and JKS-01.
