RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is stepping up its economic diplomacy in Europe by positioning Poland as a strategic entry point for trade, tourism, and investment expansion amid the country’s steady economic growth.
To promote Indonesia as a key partner in the Indo-Pacific region, the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw organized two business forums in Krakow on April 21 and in Łódź City on April 23, 2026,
“Through these forums, the embassy actively promotes Indonesia not only as a market, but also as a growth hub for Poland in the Indo-Pacific,” the embassy said in a statement on Monday, April 27, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Amid Poland’s economic growth and demographic challenges, Indonesia highlighted its young and productive workforce as a potential solution, along with opportunities for vocational training and talent exchange.
The embassy also emphasized the importance of the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA), targeted to take effect on January 1, 2027, which will eliminate tariffs on 90 percent of Indonesian products entering the European market.
“Poland has the potential to serve as a gateway for Indonesian products into Central and Eastern Europe,” the embassy noted.
Speaking at the Indonesia-Poland Business Forum in Krakow, Trade Attache Febi Adrian said Europe remains a strategic market with significant room for expanding bilateral trade.
Poland’s stable economic growth, 3.6 percent in 2025 and projected 3.9 percent in 2026, combined with strong purchasing power, offers promising opportunities for Indonesian exports.
On the investment front, Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre Director Siti Tiefryani Fahlyah highlighted Indonesia’s appeal as a major destination for foreign direct investment, with total investment realization reaching IDR 1,931.2 trillion in 2025, up 12.7 percent year-on-year.
Investment cooperation prospects span manufacturing, renewable energy, food processing, technology, and the development of Indonesia’s new capital city.
The forums also promoted the upcoming Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, scheduled for October 14-18, while attracting interest from Polish buyers, including inquiries for Indonesian products such as pearls.
The Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw noted strong enthusiasm from government and private sector participants, reflecting growing interest in Indonesia.
Going forward, the embassy plans to intensify economic diplomacy efforts and encourage concrete follow-ups with Polish partners. ***
