RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is expanding the Mecca Route fast track service for Hajj pilgrims in 2026. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ichsan Marsha, made the statment during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The service aims to accelerate immigration procedures before departure from Indonesia. This allows pilgrims to avoid long passport queues upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
The fast track service operates at major embarkation airports across Indonesia. These include Jakarta, Solo, Surabaya, and Makassar, which newly joined this year.
Ichsan Marsha explained the initiative improves efficiency and overall comfort for Indonesian pilgrims. He underscored service improvement from departure to arrival stages.
“We continue to optimize the Fast Track service so that pilgrims’ journeys are faster, more orderly, and more comfortable from Indonesia to the Holy Land,” he said.
With expansion in Makassar, around 125 thousand pilgrims will benefit from the service this year. The system includes immigration checks, visa processing, and pilgrim data verification at departure airports.
Besides, he added that services at Hajj dormitories across Indonesia are running smoothly. These include departure processes, meal services, and accommodation arrangements for pilgrims.
“All services at Hajj dormitories are running smoothly. Our focus is to ensure pilgrims receive safe, comfortable, and efficient services,” he conveyed.
