RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Nearly 6,000 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The arrival marks the start of their early-stage Hajj activities in the Holy Land.

The Indonesian government urged pilgrims to limit unnecessary movement during their stay in Saudi Arabia. This aims to maintain their physical condition throughout the long series of Hajj rituals ahead.

Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, Yusron B. Ambary, highlighted the condition of Indonesian pilgrims. He noted that most Indonesian pilgrims are elderly and require special attention during the pilgrimage period.

He reminded pilgrims not to force themselves when their physical condition is unfit. Maintaining good health is essential as the Hajj rituals will continue for several weeks ahead.

The following is his statement delivered during a briefing session in Madinah attended by Indonesian pilgrims. He emphasized the importance of maintaining physical readiness throughout the pilgrimage stages.

“Pilgrims are expected to always maintain their health and not force themselves, considering the Hajj rituals are still long,” he said.

On the first day, 5,997 Indonesian pilgrims from 15 flight groups arrived gradually until late evening. They departed from several embarkation points across Indonesia, reflecting the nationwide scale of operations.

Head of Madinah Working Area, Khalilurrahman, also warned pilgrims about the extreme weather conditions in Madinah. He advised them to use protective gear and maintain regular hydration during daily activities.

With improved services and continuous guidance, Indonesian pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj safely and comfortably. The Indonesian government aims to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for all participants.
