RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Hajj officers in Saudi Arabia have finalized all preparations as Indonesian pilgrims enter final arrival preparations on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The first group is scheduled to arrive in the Holy Land on April 22 this year.
Director of Overseas Hajj Services and Deputy Head II of Hajj officers, Budi Agung Nugroho, said preparations include accommodation, catering services, and transportation arrangements. A total of 682 Hajj officers have been deployed in Madinah and airport areas.
He explained that the Jakarta-Pondok Gede embarkation still applies the fast track immigration system this year. The first group will arrive at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport at 06:50 Saudi time.
The following is his statement regarding the reception system for arriving pilgrims in Madinah. It explains how the fast track mechanism is implemented at the airport.
“With the fast track scheme, airport reception is conducted briefly and efficiently. The official welcoming ceremony will be held at the hotel in Madinah,” he said.
Budi added that the Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Consul General are expected to attend the first arrival reception. Their presence highlights Indonesia’s official support for the pilgrimage process.
He also emphasized coordinated movement from the airport to buses in cooperation with service partners. Pilgrims are grouped carefully to ensure orderly transport and accommodation distribution.
Special baggage handling services have also been prepared to ensure pilgrims’ belongings arrive safely at their hotels. This system supports smoother logistics during peak arrival periods.
During their stay in Madinah, pilgrims will perform the Arbain prayer for approximately eight to nine days. After that, they will proceed to Makkah for the main Hajj rituals.
