RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Indonesia’s Hajj organizers expand services by deploying support staff in Madinah on Sunday, 19 April 2026. The personnel serve as a frontline in ensuring smooth services for Indonesian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
A total of 423 support personnel, including resident staff and students, attended technical guidance sessions. The training is part of efforts to reinforce their readiness for various service assignments.
They will assist in welcoming pilgrims at the airport and supporting services in sector zones. Their duties also include direct assistance to pilgrims, especially elderly individuals requiring special attention.
Head of Chancellery of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, Soeharyo Tri Sasongko, affirmed their strategic role. He said support personnel are essential in supporting the overall performance of Hajj organizers.
Before delivering his main statement, he highlighted their direct interaction with pilgrims in the field. He stressed that professionalism and responsiveness are crucial in delivering quality services.
“These support personnel are the frontline in the field. They interact directly with pilgrims, requiring them to be responsive, friendly, and professional in providing services,” he said.
He explained that personnel are deployed across two main working areas, namely the Airport and Madinah sectors. They are placed at strategic points that require direct assistance for arriving pilgrims.
In addition, they receive updated knowledge on service procedures and coordination with Saudi authorities. The training also supports the implementation of the Makkah Route service system.
Following directives from Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Moch. Irfan Yusuf, all personnel are expected to foster synergy and creativity. With this preparation, they are optimistic about supporting services during the important first arrival of pilgrims on 22 April in Madinah.
