RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia will participate in the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), scheduled to take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from April 17 to 19, 2026.

The annual international forum, themed “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” brings together world leaders, ministers, diplomats, academics, business figures, media, and civil society to discuss pressing global and regional issues.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang confirmed that Indonesia will be represented by Ambassador Achmad Rizal Purnama, who will attend both the ADF and the Group of Eight meeting, focusing on Palestine and geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

“The Indonesian Ambassador to Türkiye will represent the Foreign Minister at the Group of Eight meeting, which is expected to be attended by officials from other member states,” Yvonne said in a written statement on Friday, April 17, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

She stressed that Indonesia remains committed to actively contributing to discussions on the Palestinian peace process and broader Middle East geopolitics.

Foreign Minister Sugiono had been scheduled to attend the forum, speak on a panel on ASEAN cooperation, and hold bilateral meetings with several partner countries. However, Yvonne explained that Minister Sugiono was directed by President Prabowo Subianto to remain in Jakarta for strategic duties.

Despite the minister’s absence, Yvonne emphasized that Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Türkiye and ASEAN remains firm. Participation in ADF 2026, she said, reflects Indonesia’s dedication to advancing bilateral ties and regional collaboration.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, hosted annually by the Turkish government, serves as a platform for dialogue on global and regional challenges. Indonesia’s presence also underscores its support for Türkiye, which is in the process of becoming ASEAN’s new dialogue partner. ***
