RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia will continue to promote the values of the Asian-African Conference (AAC), as embodied in the Bandung Principles, as a unifying force for solidarity among developing countries and as a solution to various global conflicts.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela stated that the principles of the Bandung Principles are not only commemorated ceremonially, but also serve as a foundation for Indonesia’s diplomatic mission. “We see the principles of the Bandung Principles as values that we uphold, not only in a ceremonial sense, but also in the missions and messages that we put forward,” Nabyl said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

He noted that April marks the annual commemoration of the Asian-African Conference, serving as a moment to reflect on the values of the “Bandung Spirit.”

According to him, Indonesia’s diplomacy continues to emphasize the values and spirit of the Bandung Principles across various international forums and levels of engagement. “In various forums and issues related to the Bandung Spirit, Indonesia continues to raise these principles in different contexts,” Nabyl said.

He added that issues aligned with these principles, particularly those related to global peace, continue to be voiced by Indonesia amid ongoing global conflicts.

Furthermore, Nabyl stressed that the relevance of the Bandung Principles is continuously maintained so that their momentum is not lost amid current global developments.

“This momentum will not fade, nor will we abandon it, as it remains relevant to the current context, which we continue to uphold,” he said.
