RRI.CO.ID, Washington DC - Indonesoa's Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, attended several strategic meetings with leaders of international financial institutions and global stakeholders in Washington DC. According to a statement received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Finance on 16 April 2026, the Minister met with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, senior officials from the World Bank Group, and representatives from global rating agencies such as S&P Global Ratings.
During the meeting, the Minister of Finance emphasized the Indonesian Government's commitment to maintaining a balance between economic growth and the sustainability of the State Budget (APBN), especially amidst still-high global uncertainty.
The IMF highlighted that global uncertainty is expected to persist for some time to come, triggered by, among other things, geopolitical tensions and fluctuating energy prices. In response, the Minister affirmed that Indonesia has strong fiscal fundamentals and an adequate budget cushion to face various external risks.
Meanwhile, meetings with the World Bank and S&P Global Ratings received a positive response to the government's fiscal strategy under President Prabowo Subianto. The Indonesian government is considered capable of maintaining fiscal stability while simultaneously driving economic growth.
The Minister of Finance also explained that the government has comprehensively conveyed the various policies it has implemented, including their implications for the state budget and national economic growth.
In general, the IMF, World Bank, and rating agencies have expressed appreciation for Indonesia's ability to maintain growth momentum without placing excessive pressure on fiscal policy. This consolidation is expected to open opportunities for broader cooperation between Indonesia and its international partners in the future.
