RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is reinforcing its diplomatic and spiritual ties with Iran, as Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar met Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Boroujerdi in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Minister Nasaruddin expressed hope for improved conditions in Iran, stressing the importance of spiritual resilience.

“We pray that the situation in Iran will soon improve and that its people are granted resilience and strength,” he said, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

He highlighted that Indonesia-Iran relations go beyond formal diplomacy, rooted also in shared religious values and a sense of brotherhood between the two nations.

Ambassador Boroujerdi, in turn, shared updates on Iran’s current situation, noting that the challenges faced by his country require mutual understanding and continued moral support from friendly nations.

The discussion also explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in religious affairs, education, and the promotion of religious moderation.
