RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A remarkable show of solidarity from Indonesians has resulted in donations exceeding IDR 9 billion to support the people of Iran, according to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta.
In a statement released Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the embassy expressed profound gratitude to Indonesians for their trust, generosity, and participation in the humanitarian initiative.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Indonesia for their confidence, support, and involvement,” the embassy noted, as quoted by Antara.
The embassy also reported on the progress of the fundraising campaign, which has drawn widespread public response. “Alhamdulillah, this humanitarian initiative has received extraordinary support from Indonesian society,” the statement added.
As of Tuesday, April 14, a total of 24,369 individuals from diverse backgrounds had contributed, raising more than IDR 9 billion. The embassy emphasized that this broad participation reflects the strong bonds of compassion and humanity between Indonesia and Iran.
The fundraising drive began on March 17, 2026, through Bank BRI (account number 02061002438302) and will continue until April 30, 2026. Contributions will be collected via the designated account until the campaign concludes.
Once the fundraising period ends, all donations will be distributed through official channels, coordinated with relevant institutions. Funds will be transferred via the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
The embassy closed its statement by once again thanking the Indonesian people and offering prayers for their well-being. ***
