The PKB politician expressed hope that President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Moscow would reinforce energy ties between the two countries.
“During this visit, President Prabowo can strengthen energy cooperation to ensure oil supplies remain secure and stable. This is crucial to prevent price volatility that could affect the national economy,” Soleh said in a press statement in Jakarta, Monday, April 13, 2026.
He underlined that strategic cooperation in energy would serve as a vital foundation for Indonesia’s energy resilience amid global uncertainty. “With this visit, we hope Indonesia will play a more active role in global diplomacy while reinforcing national interests in energy and regional stability,” he added.
President Prabowo departed for Moscow on Sunday night, April 12, 2026, from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base at around 11:10 p.m.
He was seen off by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Armed Forces Commander Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and State Intelligence Agency Head Muhammad Herindra.
The President was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

One of the key issues to be discussed is energy cooperation between Indonesia and Russia. “Continuing collaboration with the Russian government and ensuring stable national energy supplies, including oil availability, is a priority,” he noted.
Beyond energy, both leaders are also expected to address evolving geopolitical developments. “Indonesia will voice its strategic position in maintaining global stability and peace,” Teddy concluded. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
