RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The arrival of 15,000 food packages from Indonesia, distributed by the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), was met with joy and emotion by residents of Gaza, Palestine. The humanitarian assistance reflects Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to support Palestinians facing a prolonged crisis.

The aid, officially released by BAZNAS Chairman in February 2026, reached Gaza after extensive cross-border coordination. BAZNAS Secretary and Secretary of the Palestine Task Force, Subhan Cholid, expressed gratitude for the successful distribution.

“Alhamdulillah, after a long process of delivery and international coordination, the aid from the Indonesian people has finally arrived and been distributed to those in need in Gaza,” Subhan said in a written statement from Jakarta, Monday, April 13, 2026, as quoted on the agency's official website.

He explained that the distribution involved cooperation with international partners, including Misr Alkhoir in Egypt, to ensure the packages reached affected areas effectively.

“This aid is a mandate from the Indonesian people that BAZNAS must distribute responsibly through trusted partners on the ground. We ensure it reaches those who truly need it,” he emphasized.

Subhan also extended appreciation to all contributors -- from donors and zakat managers to field partners -- who supported the process. He reaffirmed BAZNAS’s commitment to continue channeling the trust of Indonesians to assist Palestinians on a sustainable basis.

BAZNAS further encouraged continued solidarity through donations to the Palestine Solidarity Fund, underscoring the importance of collective action in easing the burden of those affected by the crisis. ***
