President Prabowo Visits Russia for Energy Deals

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto left Jakarta for Moscow, Russia, late Sunday night, April 12, 2026, to meet with President Vladimir Putin. In a statement on Instagram, Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, said that the President will discuss cooperation regarding oil and energy supplies during his visit.
“The two leaders will meet to discuss strategic issues, including energy security, continued cooperation with the Russian government, and the stability of the national energy supply, including oil,” Teddy said.
President Prabowo will also underscore Indonesia’s active role in international affairs. Teddy noted that amidst changing global politics, Prabowo will highlight Indonesia’s strategic position in maintaining global stability and peace.
Accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the President departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base. Teddy also mentioned that the journey is expected to take twelve hours.
“President Prabowo is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the afternoon,” he explained.
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Chief Commander of the Indonesian Military, Agus Subiyanto, Indonesian Police Chief, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence, Agency Muhammad Herindra attended President Prabowo’s departure.
