RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The United Nations has confirmed that Indonesian peacekeepers injured in the latest attack in southern Lebanon are in stable condition, as concerns mount over repeated strikes on UN personnel.

UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said an explosion inside a UN position in El Adeisse on Friday, April 3, 2026, injured three UNIFIL personnel, all of them from Indonesia.

“Two of the most seriously injured personnel have been evacuated to a hospital in Marjayoun, where they are reported to be in stable condition,” he told a press briefing at UN Headquarters on Monday, April 6, as quoted by Antara.

According to the transcript monitored in Jakarta, Dujarric said that another injured personnel received immediate medical treatment at the scene, as the injuries were less severe.

Amid a rise in attacks affecting UNIFIL personnel and after surveillance cameras at UN positions were reportedly destroyed in recent incidents, the UN has expressed “serious concern” to the Israeli military.

“We urge all parties to fulfill their obligations under international law and ensure the safety and security of UN personnel at all times,” Dujarric said.

Regarding investigations into two attacks in late March that killed three Indonesian peacekeepers, Dujarric confirmed that “the results are still being processed.”

The latest explosion in El Adeisse marks the third serious incident affecting Indonesian personnel in UNIFIL operations.

Indonesia has lost three soldiers in Lebanon: Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sergeant Major (Posthumous) Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Corporal (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon. They were part of the Indonesian contingent in UNIFIL, a mission that has operated in southern Lebanon since 1978.

Each was posthumously promoted as a mark of respect, and their remains received full military honors upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten.

Five other Indonesian soldiers were injured in those incidents: First Lieutenant Sulthan Wirdean Maulana, Private First Class Deni Rianto, Rico Pramudia, Bayu Prakoso, and Arif Kurniawan.

With three more personnel wounded in Friday’s incident, a total of eight Indonesian peacekeepers have now been injured while serving under the UN mission in Lebanon. ***
