Minister Sugiono Affirms Safety of Indonesians as Top Priority in the Middle East

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian Foreign Minister, Sugiono, along with Vice Foreign Ministers, led a follow-up coordination meeting virtually with Heads of Indonesian Missions in the Middle East to discuss the latest developments in the region, Monday, April 6, 2026.

During the meeting, Minister Sugiono underscored that the safety of Indonesian citizens remains the government’s top priority amid the evolving regional dynamics. “I reaffirm that the safety of Indonesian citizens is our top priority,” Sugiono stated in the meeting, as quoted from a post on the Foreign Minister’s official X account.

He also called on all Indonesian representatives in the Middle East to strengthen coordination with the central government, among missions, and with local authorities to ensure optimal protection measures.

“I ask all Indonesian representatives to enhance coordination with the central government, fellow missions, and local authorities,” he said.

In addition, all representatives were urged to remain vigilant and continuously update contingency plans in line with developments in their respective countries of accreditation.

Foreign Minister Sugiono also expressed appreciation to all Indonesian missions for their continued hard work in ensuring the protection of Indonesian citizens in their respective areas.

“I thank all Indonesian representatives for their dedication in ensuring the protection of our citizens in their respective regions,” he said.
