Iran’s Ambassador Praises Indonesia’s Role in Promoting Middle East Peace

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, has expressed deep appreciation to the Indonesian government for its willingness to act as a facilitator in efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.

Speaking at a meeting with Indonesian Islamic leaders in Jakarta on Friday, April 3, 2026, Boroujerdi highlighted Indonesia’s readiness to bridge dialogue following the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the Indonesian government, which, after the war involving America and Israel against Iran, has shown its willingness and preparedness to help facilitate peace in the region,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

Boroujerdi underscored that Indonesia’s commitment is a significant step toward fostering stability and sustainable peace. He also gave special recognition to Din Syamsuddin, Chairman of the Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC), praising his contributions to peace efforts both regionally and globally.

“I extend special thanks to Din Syamsuddin, whose tireless efforts have greatly advanced the cause of lasting peace, not only in the region but also worldwide,” Boroujerdi noted.

In his remarks, Boroujerdi called on Muslims, particularly in Indonesia to unite in campaigning against war. “It is essential for Muslims to stand together to confront the wars and aggressions launched by Zionists and America,” he urged, adding that the Zionist regime opposes not only Islam but also other faiths.

“This regime stands against all religions -- Islam, Christianity, and even non-Zionist Judaism. They do not allow Muslims to worship freely at Al-Aqsa Mosque,” he said.

The ambassador’s comments highlight Indonesia’s growing role as a bridge-builder in global diplomacy, while also reinforcing calls for unity and collective action against conflict in the Middle East. ***
