Indonesia-Malaysia Reinforces Defense Cooperation and Regional Stability

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, received an honorary visit from the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, General Datuk Haji Malek Razak Bin Sulaiman. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Defense Office, Jakarta, on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
As quoted by the official kemhan.go.id website, the meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. This agenda is part of efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the field of defense.
In the meeting, both parties coordinated and fostered relations to discuss the dynamic developments in the regional security situation. This constructive dialog serves as a means to exchange strategic views.
The dialog also reinforces the joint commitment to maintaining regional stability. This visit reflects both countries' commitment to continuing to foster harmonious relations.
Both countries are striving to strengthen synergy in the defense sector. This is part of a tangible contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the regional area.
The Minister of Defense was also accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General TNI Tri Budi Utomo and other top-ranks . Additionally, the Chief of Logistics of the Ministry of Defense was also present to accompany the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia.
