RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and South Korea have taken a major step in strengthening their long-term strategic partnership, with the signing and exchange of 10 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) witnessed directly by President Prabowo Subianto during his state visit to Seoul on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the agreements -- signed in a ceremony at the South Korean Presidential Palace Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House) -- reflect the concrete expansion of bilateral cooperation across multiple priority sectors.
“The MoUs exchanged are a tangible manifestation of the growing and future-oriented strategic partnership between Indonesia and South Korea,” Teddy said in a statement shared via the Cabinet Secretariat’s official Instagram account, as quoted by Antara.
The agreements cover a wide range of areas: the establishment of a Special Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue, Economic Cooperation 2.0, collaboration on critical minerals, digital development, and AI applications for basic healthcare and human development.

Other MoUs include cooperation on clean energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), offshore power generation services, intellectual property rights protection and enforcement, and financial cooperation involving Indonesia’s Danantara and the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
Teddy emphasized that both governments are committed to building a resilient future through strong and mutually beneficial collaboration. The cross-sector initiatives are expected to drive inclusive economic growth, strengthen industrial resilience, and accelerate the transition toward a technology-driven and clean energy economy.
This latest round of agreements highlights the deepening ties between Jakarta and Seoul, positioning both nations to jointly tackle global challenges while advancing innovation and sustainable development. ***
