RRI.CO.ID, Tokyo – Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani, has said that despite the current global political uncertainty, Japanese business leaders’ trust in the Indonesian economy remains very strong. He made the statement during a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, March 30, 2026.

He said that Japanese investments at the Business Forum are divided into several major projects. He noted that the INPEX and Pertamina project is the largest, valued at approximately USD20.9 billion.

“Indeed, the majority is in the project with INPEX and Pertamina. Its value is roughly 20.9 billion dollars,” Rosan said.

Furthermore, he explained that other sectors, namely aviation and banking cooperation, also resulted in agreements. Cooperation with SMBC Aviation Leasing amounts to USD800 million, and financing for Pegadaian is Rp5 trillion.

Rosan explained, “Then there was also a signing with SMBC Aviation Leasing and Danantara for an investment of approximately 800 million dollars. Additionally, Pegadaian received financing from SMBC Bank amounting to approximately 5 trillion rupiah, or roughly 300 million dollars.”

The minister also revealed that Japan has agreed to invest USD500 million in the beauty industry and USD1 billion in blood plasma processing. He also mentioned investments in renewable energy related to the expansion of geothermal projects.

At the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum, President Prabowo Subianto witnessed firsthand the signing of 10 memorandums of understanding and strategic cooperation agreements between Indonesian and Japanese businesses. The agreements reached at the forum are valued at a total of USD23.63 billion, or approximately Rp401.71 trillion.
