RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the latest developments regarding an incident involving TNI soldiers within the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. According to a press statement received by RRI VOI on Monday, March 31, 2026, two Indonesian soldiers were reported killed in the most recent incident in South Lebanon.

The security situation in the deployment area has reportedly undergone a significant escalation over the past few days. Previously, on 29 March 2026, one TNI soldier was also declared dead due to the impact of the conflict within the operational zone.

The latest incident on March 30 directly affected TNI Task Force personnel who were conducting operational escort duties. In addition to the two fatalities, two other soldiers were reported to have sustained serious injuries due to the increasing intensity of the fighting.

The injured soldiers are currently receiving intensive medical treatment at a healthcare facility in Beirut. To date, the exact cause of the incident remains under a deep investigation by UNIFIL in accordance with established mechanisms.

The Indonesian Government, through the Ministry of Defense and the TNI, continues to coordinate closely with UNIFIL Headquarters to ensure the safety of all personnel. Evacuation measures and medical treatment for the victims have been carried out swiftly following United Nations (UN) operational procedures.

The Ministry emphasized that the safety of world peacekeepers must always remain the top priority for all parties involved. All conflicting parties are expected to respect international humanitarian law and guarantee the security of UN personnel on the ground.
