RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Justice and Democracy Forum (JDF) Asia Pacific has issued a high-stakes call for global intervention, urging the international community to pressure Israel into restoring full access to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Palestine. The demand follows a controversial ban on Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri year prayers at the site, a move reportedly linked to the escalating military conflict involving Iran.

As reported by Antara, the forum warned that such restrictions on religious freedom are not only illegal under international law but also threaten to ignite widespread unrest across the Muslim world.

In a formal statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, JDF Asia Pacific President, Jazuli Juwaini, condemned the policy as a recurring violation of human rights. He emphasized that the historical mosque holds a singular place in the hearts of millions, serving as a pillar of Islamic identity and heritage.

“Al-Aqsa Mosque is not just an ordinary place of worship, it possesses immense historical and spiritual value for Muslims worldwide as the first Qibla of Islam,” said Jazuli, as quoted by Antara.

The forum categorized the ban as an aggressive disregard for international norms, suggesting that such measures deepen humanitarian crises and destabilize global peace. By barring Palestinian Muslims from their sacred site, the JDF argued that the current administration is fueling a cycle of tension that could spill over into a much broader regional confrontation.

Beyond moral condemnation, the JDF Asia Pacific explicitly called upon the United Nations Security Council and the broader international community to enforce the established status quo of the holy site. They insist that diplomatic pressure must be applied to ensure that the fundamental right to worship is protected from political or military maneuvers.

“We demand that access for Muslims to Al-Aqsa Mosque be fully opened without any restrictions,” added Jazuli.

Looking toward a collective regional response, the forum urged Muslim-majority nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League to move beyond rhetoric and adopt decisive diplomatic measures. The JDF highlighted that the sanctity of holy sites is a shared global responsibility that requires immediate and unified action to preserve justice.

“JDF Asia Pacific affirms that the protection of holy places and the freedom to worship is a collective responsibility of the world community. Collective efforts are necessary to ensure that justice and peace are maintained,” concluded Jazuli. ***
