Over 2,000 Indonesians Mark Eid al-Fitr in Bangkok with Message of Togetherness

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - More than 2,000 Indonesians gathered at the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, marking the occasion with prayers, fellowship, and traditional dishes.
The event, held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, carried the theme “Strong Faith, Great Unity: Indonesian Muslims Spreading Blessings to the Universe” and drew not only members of the Indonesian diaspora but also foreign nationals from countries including Malaysia, Myanmar, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, France, Russia, Thailand, and China.
Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand, Hari Prabowo, who began his posting just days earlier on March 13, used the gathering to meet and greet the community. He underscored Eid as a moment to reinforce unity and brotherhood among Indonesians abroad.
“Eid al-Fitr reminds us that the strength of faith should not stop at the individual level, but must be reflected in how we treat others -- with respect, mutual support, and a commitment to unity,” he said in a statement from the embassy,.as quoted by Antara.
Echoing the ambassador’s message, Preascher Rosyid Adi Noer Rochman, who delivered the sermon, urged Indonesians in Bangkok to embrace diversity as a path toward mutual understanding and collective strength.
"When brotherhood grows in the heart, the next step is to work together in goodness,” he noted.
The embassy highlighted that the celebration fostered a warm atmosphere of togetherness, with attendees mingling and sharing festive meals in a spirit of simplicity and solidarity. ***
