RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta has extended support to 200 Indonesian Muslim students as part of a memorial event for 175 schoolgirls killed in Minab, Hormozgan Province, following joint US and Israeli strikes in late February.
“We gather here today to remember the martyrdom of 175 elementary schoolgirls in Minab who were targeted by the United States and the Zionist regime,” said Iran’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, during the gathering at his residence on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The February 28 attacks struck multiple sites across Iran, including Tehran, leaving hundreds of civilians dead. Among the victims were students of Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ Elementary School in Minab, where 175 children lost their lives and more than 95 others were injured.
The Jakarta event combined financial assistance with prayers and messages of solidarity, intended both to honor the victims and to remind participants that such humanitarian tragedies must not be forgotten. Organizers emphasized the importance of justice and peace in preventing future violence.
Attended by 200 students from 13 Islamic foundations across Indonesia, the program included collective prayers and condolences for the victims. Ambassador Boroujerdi expressed hope that no children anywhere should endure the suffering experienced by the Minab schoolgirls.
“I pray for your welfare, safety, and success throughout life. I hope you will never face, witness, or experience the war that our children are enduring,” Boroujerdi told the students.
The embassy framed the event as both a humanitarian gesture and a call to global awareness, underscoring the need to protect children and uphold peace in times of conflict. ***
