RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Hasanuddin University (Unhas) has partnered with two Japanese companies -- Atago Co., Ltd. and BESTie Co., Ltd. -- to broaden internship opportunities for its students. The collaboration will provide direct exposure to Japan’s industry and professional culture, strengthening international cooperation while equipping students for global career paths.
Unhas Vice Rector for Partnerships, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, Adi Maulana, said the partnership with international industry partners is a strategic step to improve education quality and broaden students’ global experience.
“This cooperation opens wider opportunities for Unhas students, particularly from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, to gain direct experience in Japan’s industrial environment,” Adi said in a statement on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
“Through this program, students will not only learn about the professional world but also understand professional culture and global work ethics, which are very important in facing international competition,” he added.
Atago Co., Ltd. President Kunio Inokuchi said the program would also create opportunities for knowledge exchange between industry and academia. “This program allows students to learn directly from industrial practices in Japan. We believe this experience will help them develop professional skills while broadening their global perspective,” Kunio Inokuchi said.
Meanwhile, BESTie Co., Ltd. CEO Yuki Matsumoto said the internship program was designed to give students hands-on learning about the dynamics of Japanese industry. “Through this experience, students will not only develop language skills but also build an understanding of how to work in cross-cultural teams,” Yuki Matsumoto said.
The program also offers opportunities for internship alumni to secure employment with partner companies depending on industry needs. ***
