Indonesia-Australia Boosts Military Education and Training Ties

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Australia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of military education and training. This cooperation aims to enhance the quality and professionalism of the soldiers of both countries.

The agreement was confirmed when the Governor of the Military Academy, Major General Rano Tilaar, received a visit from the Australian Army Attaché, Dave Gandi. The meeting took place at the Military Academy in Magelang on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

In the meeting, the Governor of the Military Academy conveyed his institution's commitment to improving the quality of education for the cadets. This effort is carried out thru strengthening international cooperation and information exchange.

In addition, both parties also discussed collaboration opportunities in the development of military human resources. This cooperation is expected to broaden perspectives and enhance the professional capabilities of the cadets.

Meanwhile, the Australian Army Attaché expressed appreciation for the welcome extended by the Military Academy. He hopes that the good relationship that has been established can continue to be improved constructively and sustainably.

This meeting is expected to further strengthen the defense partnership between Indonesia and Australia. The military education pathway has become one of the important means to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to educational cooperation, both countries are also actively enhancing collaboration in addressing various security threats. This cooperation also aims to promote sustainable peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
