RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) confirmed that four Pertamina vessels are currently operating in the Middle East, with Acting Corporate Secretary Vega Pita assuring that all remain in safe condition amid the region’s dynamic security situation.

Vega explained that PIS is proactively monitoring developments and coordinating with ship management, while also maintaining communication with local maritime authorities to strengthen vigilance and mitigate risks.

In addition to its fleet, PIS has also ensured the safety of 30 employees and their families stationed at the company’s Middle East branch office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

“The condition of our workers and families in Dubai is confirmed safe, and the company continues to monitor the situation closely,” Vega said in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, March 2, 2026.

He emphasized that the company’s primary focus is safeguarding personnel and crew, as well as ensuring the security of fleet operations in strategic Middle Eastern waters.

Regarding vessel positions, PIS reported that the Gamsunoro is loading cargo at Khor al Zubair, Iraq; Pertamina Pride has completed loading and is anchored at Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia; PIS Rinjani is berthed at Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates; and PIS Paragon is operating in Oman.

The company continues to maintain intensive communication and comply with guidance issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate General in Dubai.

Of the four vessels, two remain within the Gulf area -- Pertamina Pride, managed by NYK, and Gamsunoro, managed by Synergy Ship Management. Both are being monitored in real time to ensure safety.

“While closely following developments around the clock, we are working to move both vessels out of the Gulf area as soon as possible. Our fleet team is in intensive coordination with ship managers to safeguard crew and vessels,” Vega added.
