RRI.RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The United States and Israel's attacks on Iran have impacted international flight operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Monday 2 March 2026. Several flights to the Middle East were reportedly unable to depart due to the unstable security situation in the region.

Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of the Communication and Legal Division at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, revealed that five departing flights were canceled or had their schedules adjusted. These flights were to several cities in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

"We have five flights, yes, the departures were canceled. Emirates to Dubai, Qatar to Doha, and Etihad to Abu Dhabi," Eka said.

The affected airlines include Emirates with routes to Dubai, Qatar Airways to Doha, and Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi. The schedule adjustments were made as a precautionary measure due to the evolving situation in the Middle East.

Eka confirmed that all passengers were handled in accordance with each airline's policies. The airport also urges prospective passengers to actively communicate with the relevant airlines for the latest information regarding flight schedules.

"We would like to inform you that airport management has prepared a helpdesk for airlines to provide the latest information and assist passengers with cancelled flights or flight adjustments. Reroute refunds can be processed here. Of course, we are constantly updating information from the airlines and from the airport management," he explained.

As a further precautionary measure, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the operator of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, has coordinated with AirNav Indonesia. This coordination is being carried out to ensure the safety and security of flight operations.

The airport ensures that it will continue to monitor developments in the global situation and regularly update the public. Passengers planning to travel to the Middle East are advised to check their flight status before arriving at the airport to avoid inconvenience.
