Iranian Embassy Appreciates President Prabowo’s Readiness to Mediate

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta expressed appreciation for the consistent support of the Indonesian government and people for Iran amid escalating tensions following attacks by the United States and Israel. In an official statement received in Jakarta on Sunday, 1 March 2026, the embassy welcomed the readiness of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to mediate the conflict.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia, while expressing appreciation for the consistent support of the Government and people of Indonesia and welcoming the readiness of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to mediate in this conflict, emphasizes the importance of a firm stance by Indonesian officials in condemning the aggression and crimes of the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel,” the embassy stated.

Earlier, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the failure of negotiations between the United States and Iran, which has led to military escalation in the Middle East. Indonesia also reiterated the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries and resolving differences through peaceful means in accordance with international law.

The Indonesian government, represented by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, also conveyed its readiness to facilitate dialogue in order to help restore a conducive security situation.

In its statement, the Iranian Embassy described the attacks that occurred on Saturday, 28 February 2026, as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and alleged that civilian locations were targeted. The embassy further characterized the actions as part of a long-standing pattern of hostility against Iran spanning several decades.

The embassy also confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as a result of the attack.

“With deep regret, in the course of this attack, His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, attained martyrdom at his office,” the embassy stated.
