RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - As security dynamics in the Middle East grow increasingly fluid, the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh has urged Indonesian citizens in Saudi Arabia to remain calm while heightening vigilance around their places of residence.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the embassy called on Indonesian citizens to closely monitor information from credible and official sources. It also advised them to comply with instructions and guidance issued by Saudi Arabian authorities and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh.
The advisory comes in response to what the embassy described as rising security dynamics in the broader Middle East region.
Indonesians in Saudi Arabia are encouraged to complete self-reporting through the Foreign Affairs Ministry Peduli WNI platform. They are also advised to join official WhatsApp groups organized by Indonesian community associations in their respective areas.
In addition, the embassy urged citizens to prepare and securely store important documents, including passports, iqama (residence permits), and other identification, in both physical and digital formats to ensure easy access if needed.
“Indonesian nationals are requested to postpone non-essential travel to countries or areas potentially affected by the escalation of the security situation. Those with scheduled flights are advised to contact their airlines immediately for the latest information regarding flight schedules and status,” the embassy said in its statement, as quoted by Antara.
For emergencies, Indonesian nationals can contact the Indonesian Embassy hotline via WhatsApp at +966 569173990.
The embassy affirmed that it will continue to closely monitor developments and coordinate with relevant authorities. ***
